Warm and understated, this Cream Tussar Silk Saree carries a slubbed, softly textured ground scattered with small embroidered pomegranate butis — each fruit filled with a fine lattice stitch in rose pink or deep red, crowned with a leaf and a tiny bud.

The border opens into a full embroidered vine: pomegranates in crimson, blush and sage, worked alongside star flowers in red and powder blue, curling leaves in olive and pistachio, and small round mirrors set into the pattern. Rows of kantha-style running stitch in coral, pink and grey run alongside the vine, widening the border and drawing the eye across the pallu. The edge is finished with a fine cream crochet lace picot trim. The unstitched blouse piece carries a matching embroidered band with the same lace finish.

Saree Length: 5.5meters
Blouse Piece Length: 0.8 meters
Recommended Care: Dry clean only

The embroidery here works in the folk idiom of western India — a flowering vine carrying fruit, read in flat, bright colour rather than shaded realism. Pomegranates, long a symbol of abundance and fertility in Indian textile ornament, anchor the border and repeat as scattered butis across the body. Lattice fill stitches give the fruit body, satin and stem stitches carry the leaves and flowers, and rows of running stitch in the kantha manner add rhythm alongside the vine. Small mirrors are set in the abhla tradition, each held by an embroidered thread frame so it sits flush against the silk.

This saree is crafted in Gujarat — a state with one of India's deepest hand embroidery traditions, from the mirror-set abhla bharat of Kutch to the fine floral threadwork of its northern districts. Karigars here work motif by motif in cotton and silk thread, bringing inherited folk vocabulary onto contemporary silk drapes.

खूबसूरत कलेक्शन, अमेरिका में ऐसी प्रामाणिक बुनाई देखकर अच्छा लगा। मेरे परिवार को भी बैंगलोर होम स्टोर जाना बहुत पसंद आया।
