Revive Her Kanjivaram
Heirloom Revival · The Saffron House Studio
Somewhere in your family there is a Kanjivaram folded in muslin, waiting. It was your mother's, or her mother's. It is too precious to give away, and too long unworn to feel like yours.
We think it deserves another wedding. Our studio revives family Kanjivarams: we study what the saree is, honour what it was, and help it be worn again by the next woman in the family.

The Saree That Went to Cannes
When Disha Madan walked the Cannes red carpet, she wore her mother's handwoven Kanjivaram, a saree close to seventy years old. Our studio revived it as couture, keeping the silk and zari her mother had worn and giving it a new life on one of the world's most watched stages. You can read the full story in our journal.
Not every heirloom is headed for a red carpet. Most are headed for a daughter's engagement, a granddaughter's muhurtham or a festival at home. The care is the same.
What Revival Can Mean
Every heirloom is different, so we always begin by looking. Depending on the saree and its condition, our studio may suggest one of three paths.
I
Restore
Mending and refinishing so the saree can be worn as it was, with fresh fall and pico and attention to worn edges.
II
Reimagine
Reworking the saree as couture, as we did for Cannes: a new drape, a new blouse, hand finishing that respects the original weave.
III
Re-wear
Styling it for today, with a contemporary blouse and jewellery chosen to bring the old zari forward.
How It Works
- Share a few photographs. Send us the front, the pallu, the border and any worn or damaged areas on WhatsApp.
- Let us see it properly. Book a video call, or bring the saree to our Bangalore flagship, so our studio can look at the silk, the zari and the joins.
- Agree on a plan. We tell you honestly what is possible and recommend a path. You will know the price and the timeline before any work begins.
- The studio work. We keep you updated as the saree is revived.
- Wear it again. Your heirloom comes back ready for its next occasion, and its next generation.
A word of honesty: some sarees are too fragile to be worn again. If that is the case with yours, we will tell you, and suggest how best to keep it.

Before You Reach Out
- Keep the saree folded in muslin, away from sunlight and damp, until we have seen it.
- Do not wash it or try to remove stains yourself. Old silk and zari need specialist care.
- If you know its story, tell us. Who wore it, and when, often shapes what we suggest.
