Vivid and eye-catching, this Turquoise Korvai Kanjivaram Silk Saree carries a scattering of small gold zari paisley buti across the body, spaced generously to let the saree's bright, solid color shine through. The Korvai weaving technique — where the body and border are woven separately and interlocked by hand — gives this saree its signature sharp color transition from the turquoise body into a deep wine border, marked by a striking triangular tooth edge.
The border and pallu are worked in a rich gold zari band depicting a row of mythical lion-like yali creatures amid floral motifs, framed by fine striped silver-gold trims on either side. The wine ground carries this same yali border consistently through the pallu, giving the drape a bold, graphic finish. The saree comes paired with a matching turquoise Korvai Kanjivaram silk blouse piece, scattered with the same gold zari paisley buti.
Saree Length: 5.5meters
Blouse Piece Length: 0.8 meters
Recommended Care: Dry clean only
This saree showcases the Korvai weaving technique — where the body and border are woven separately on the loom and interlocked by hand, allowing a sharp color contrast between the turquoise body and wine border densely worked with mythical yali motifs in gold zari.
This saree is woven in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu — the historic silk weaving town renowned for its Korvai technique, which allows weavers to combine two contrasting colors within a single saree without compromising strength or drape.
