Bright and breezy, this Yellow Kanchivaram Silk Saree carries a classic checked pattern across the body, woven with fine maroon crossing lines that give the fabric a crisp, structured look. A temple-edge zigzag border marks the transition into the contrasting red section, adding a traditional, handwoven detail where the two colors meet.

The border and pallu are rendered in a rich red, finished with thin gold-orange stripes that run parallel along the edge. This contrast between the yellow body and red border is achieved using the korvai technique, a traditional Kanchivaram weaving method where the body and border are woven separately in different colored silks and then interlocked together on the loom — all without the use of zari, letting the pure silk colors and weave take center stage.

Saree Length: 5.5meters
Blouse Piece Length: 0.8 meters
Recommended Care: Dry clean only

This saree showcases the korvai weaving technique, where the yellow checked body and red border are woven separately in contrasting colored silks and then joined together at the loom — a hallmark of traditional Kanchivaram craftsmanship. The temple-edge zigzag pattern marks this join, while the body carries a fine checked weave and the pallu finishes with thin parallel stripes, all rendered purely through silk color and weave without any zari embellishment.

Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu — the historic silk-weaving town renowned for centuries-old Kanchivaram handloom traditions, passed down through generations of master weavers.
